FAQ
Can I use signocrom on any chrome surface?
signocrom has been developed to work on hexavalent as well as on trivalent chrome in any available finish – bright, satin and dark. We recommend a chrome layer of 0.2µm, products with thinner chrome layers have to be assessed individually.
What substrate material do I need for signocrom?
Any chrome-plated plastic or metal material can be marked – e.g. zamak and other zinc alloys, plastic, copper, brass.
Will signocrom effect the robustness of my chrome surface?
signocrom is successfully tested to automotive standards. The marked surface is as robust to environmental influences as the untouched chrome-plated surface.
What colors do you have in your portfolio?
We currently offer a range of blue, black, brown, green and gold tones as well as shades of these colors. We also have developed a rainbow-effect-like finish that we call “chromatic". Individual colors besides this spectrum can be developed upon customer request.
Do I have to change my galvanisation process in order to apply signocrom?
Our laser-marking technology does not require any additional process step (such as chemicals or clear-coat) in the plating or post-plating process. signocrom can be applied on an existing product long after its plating.
